Pongal is celebrated in the South India especially in Tamil Nadu. The celebration takes place for four days. Pongal happen together with the festival Makar Sankranti celebrted throughout India. Ponagal 2012 is on 14th January. People used to send Pongal SMS to wish friends and loved ones.
